To walk to the Music department from Jury’s Hotel, Great Victoria Street, is about a 10/15 minute walk. Turn right and walk past The Grand Opera House, The Europa Hotel, The Europa Bus Station. You will come to a  busy junction called Shaftesbury Square with a big electronic advertising screen on the left hand side, cross over the junction walking towards the Northern Bank building the screen is on and walk past it, keeping the bank on your right. You are now on Botanic Avenue. You’ll walk past a post office on your right, and lots of cafes, restaurants and pubs.. The Empire is across the street on your left and you’ll eventually pass Café Renoir on your right at the top of the street. Keep walking past Café Renoir, you’ll also see a hotel called Dukes Hotel across the street on your left. Keep on the right hand side of the road, you’ll pass a Uni-link bus stop and then turn right. Immediately ahead just across the street is Queen’s Music Department, University Square, an old red brick building which stands alone beside the library and across from the Queens Film Theatre (QFT). To get in you need to walk around the back of the building just past a café called Café Kreme, up the ramp, and you’re there!

Alternatively, there is a black taxi rank just outside the station at Great Victoria St.

Trains

Translink: The Enterprise train runs from Connelly Station, Dublin to Central Station. Once you reach Central station you can travel to Botanic Station for free. Botanic station is a five minute walk from the Queen’s Music department at University Square. It is a very pleasant journey, but generally quite a bit more expensive than the bus. Sometimes it can be cheaper to book online before you go.. Check the week before to see if there are any offers on..

To get from Botanic station, turn left as you leave the station, walk to the top of the street past Café Renoir, Dukes Hotel across the street and turn right after the uni-link bus stop Immediately ahead just across the street is Queen’s Music Department, University Square, an old red brick building which stands alone beside the library and across from the Queens Film Theatre (QFT). To get in you need to walk around the back of the building just past a café called Café Kreme, up the ramp, and you’re there!

It’s really not worthwhile to get a taxi – it’s a very short distance!

Boat

There are some very good ferry connections from Scotland via Larne and Belfast. Although it is a bit further away, it is very easy to get the train from Larne port to Belfast. There is a train station right beside the port. You could also get a taxi to the bus station and get the bus to Belfast from there.
